World's Oldest and Largest Art Car Parade - May 8, 2010 in Houston, TX

The Houston Art Car Parade is the first and largest Art Car Parade in the World. This annual event in Houston, TX, features today’s cars, classic cars, lowriders, bicycles, motorcycles, roller-skaters, and other motorized and human-powered vehicles decorated in outside-the-box style! The only way to describe it is --- well, it’s a sure case of a picture’s worth a thousand words.

Houston’s first art car parade took place on May 14, 1986, when 11 vehicles participated The 2004 parade featured 250 entries observed by an audience of over 100,000. Every year the number of cars participating in the parade grows. On November 28, 2009, Houston had an illuminated art car parade, as part of Gloworama.
