A recent interview on NPR's Morning Edition with John Sternal of LeaseTrader got us really thinking. The subject of the interview was a recent study LeaseTrader ran that found that women usually ask more questions and get better deals when they are buying cars. What's more, said Sternal, "our data specifically says that women not only have a larger interest in cars overall, but women today are taking a more active role in the negotiating process of a vehicle and in the car-shopping process in general." Gender roles when it comes to cars have changed dramatically over the past few decades. And we've been paying attention to that here, making sure to be a Women-friendly group of dealerships.
But it's especially interesting that women are not only more interested than they have been in the past, they're also more invested, and, it seems, getting better deals on cars than men ever did. So start giving Hot Wheels to your daughters and nieces to play with instead of dolls, because odds are, they'll be the one's making the decisions on what cars to drive and buy!
