Who's Top Ten?

Car and Driver Magazine has announced their list of the best ten cars of 2012.  You can see them all (in bright candy apple red, no less) in this video.  The playlist that video starts off includes driving tests of all ten cars.  The winners were:

• Audi A6/A7 3.0T Quattro
• BMW 3-Series/M3
• Cadillac CTS-V
• Ford Mustang GT/Boss 302
• Ford Focus
• Honda Accord
• Honda Fit
• Mazda MX-5 Miata
• Porsche Boxster/Cayman
• Volkswagen Golf/GTI

That list is kind of all over the place, from tiny "city cars" like the Fit, to luxury sport cars like the Boxster, to old standbys like the Accord.  It's interesting that despite winning all sorts of accolades with its offerings this year, no Hyundais made the list.  We don't know exactly what criteria Car and Driver uses, other than the cars have to "completely satisfy" them and be under $80,000.  But no SUVs?  Or trucks?  And putting the Fit on the same list as a Mustang seems sort of like putting both oak trees and crab grass on a list of "best plants."  Kind of apples and oranges.  Plus, we're sure other publications would come up with a completely different set of ten here.  Speaking of which...
