Pushing for Federal Standards on Teen Driving

How many of you can honestly say you know what driving laws in Pennsylvania are exclusive to teen drivers?

We're guessing most of you with teenage children probably know a few, and we're also guessing that a lot of the rest of you didn't even know there were laws specific to teenage drivers.  Now for those of you who are familiar with laws specific to teenage drivers in Pennsylvania, how many of you could tell us which laws apply once you leave the state?  We're guessing that the percentage of people who can say yes to both of these questions is probably very low, way too low in fact.  That's why more people are lobbying congress to establish federal regulations regarding teen drivers, as opposed to the current system, which is entirely different from state to state.  Here's an article on what we're talking about:

Laws specifically regulating teenage drivers are intended to target a segment of drivers that statistics show are the most prone to accidents.  From distractions, like disruptive passengers and cell phones, to just plain inexperience, teens are more at risk than any demographic to get into car accidents.  It's for this reason that laws are established specifically targeting teenaged drivers, but is the current system good enough?  Many would say that a federal system with more national laws and less state legislation, would be easier for everyone to grasp.  What do you think?  Is it time for congress to step in and start passing some nationwide regulations for teen drivers?
